Understanding Product Images & Specifications

Why product images on Indexfox are for reference only and how to confirm OEM/ODM manufacturing details.

Unlike retail (B2C) e-commerce, Indexfox is a B2B directory connecting you directly with custom manufacturers (OEM/ODM). Because most products are made-to-order, the product images displayed on our platform serve as a general reference of the factory’s manufacturing capabilities, rather than off-the-shelf items ready for immediate retail sale.

1. Visual Reference & Branding

  • Logos and Trademarks: Any brands, logos, or specific designs shown on product images may belong to the manufacturer’s previous clients. They are displayed solely to demonstrate printing, molding, tooling, or finishing capabilities.
  • Private Labeling: You cannot typically purchase products displaying another company’s trademark. You will need to provide your own design files (Tech Packs) for private labeling.

2. Specifications and Tolerances

The product appearance shown in the photos may vary based on different production batches or custom configurations. The actual specifications of your bulk order—including dimensions, materials, color matching (Pantone), technical tolerances, and packaging—must be explicitly negotiated and confirmed directly with the supplier.

3. Best Practices for Buyers

To ensure you receive exactly what you need, always:

  • Communicate Clearly: Send your detailed requirements (BOM, CAD files, or Tech Packs) to the supplier when submitting an inquiry.
  • Request a Prototype: Always order and approve a physical pre-production sample (PPS) to verify the actual product appearance, material quality, and craftsmanship before committing to a bulk manufacturing run.
