Product Overview
Melamine foam occupies the premium end of absorber foams because it solves polyurethane’s two weaknesses: fire behavior and heat. The open-cell thermoset resin structure is intrinsically flame-resistant — UL94 V-0 and EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0 classifications are achievable depending on grade and test evidence — and it keeps mechanical integrity at temperatures where PU foams melt, making it the default choice for rail vehicles, engine test cells, generators and other hot or regulated environments. At only 8–11 kg/m³ it adds almost no weight to a structure, and the fiber-free chemistry suits cleanrooms and food-adjacent spaces. In 50–100 mm wedge or convoluted profiles it reaches NRC values around 0.9–1.0 in the speech-frequency bands. Manufacturers listed here cut standard wedge, pyramid and egg-crate profiles plus CNC shapes, and supply fire test documentation matched to the grade quoted.
