Product Overview
Polyurethane egg-crate foam is the standard studio absorber: the convoluted surface increases effective area and scatters reflections while the open-cell body converts sound to heat. Studio-grade density runs 20–35 kg/m³ — noticeably heavier than packing foam, which is what keeps the panels from sagging on walls over time. Absorption works from roughly 250 Hz upward at 50 mm thickness, with thicker 75–100 mm panels extending control into the bass range. Because raw PU foam is combustible, professional projects specify flame-retardant treated grades, and the fire class claimed must come with matching test documentation — treated foams are commonly marketed to GB 8624 B1 or equivalent classes, but the buyer should verify the report covers the quoted product. Manufacturers listed here cut standard tiles and full sheets, wedge and pyramid profiles, custom colors including charcoal and red, and bundled room-treatment kits with calculated panel counts.
