Product Overview
Seed tape turns scatter-sowing into placement accuracy: seeds embedded at machine-set spacing between two laminated carrier webs, laid in the furrow and dissolved by soil moisture so the crop emerges in a ruler-straight, waste-free line. The carrier film is PVA — the rare polymer that dissolves completely and biodegrades in soil — specified by dissolution temperature (cold-water grades for low-moisture field conditions, warm-water grades where the tape needs handling strength), thickness around 20–40 µm, and heat-seal behavior for the embroidery-style converting machines that build the tapes. Converting quality determines line speed and scrap: film with consistent thickness and slip runs faster with fewer broken tapes. Beyond seed tapes, the same films serve agrochemical unit-dose packaging that dissolves in the spray tank, removing operator contact with concentrated product. Manufacturers listed here supply converting-ready rolls in custom widths, cold/warm dissolving grades with documented dissolution times, and technical support for tape-lamination trials.
