Product Overview
An I-beam is pure bending engineering: material concentrated in flanges separated by a thin web gives the most bending stiffness per kilogram of any standard section — and pultruding that section in carbon fiber pushes the ratio further because the fibers run the beam’s full length exactly where flanges need them. The format suits drone arms and booms, gantry rails, camera gimbal structures and lightweight machine frames with long, straight, beam-loaded members. The engineering caveats are specific: the web/flange junctions are resin-dominated and vulnerable to peel under eccentric or impact loads, holes and bolted joints interrupt the flanges, and torsion must be carried elsewhere in the structure — pultruded beams are axis specialists, not box-section generalists. Manufacturers listed here tool custom flange widths, web heights and wall thicknesses, supply cut-to-length with bonded aluminum or titanium end fittings where arm-root loads concentrate, and support airframe programs from prototype beams through production volumes.
