Product Overview
Pultruded carbon square tubes deliver beam stiffness at a fraction of steel weight: fibers pulled continuous through the section mean essentially all reinforcement runs along the tube — exactly where a beam’s bending stiffness needs it. Standard-modulus fiber (around 230 GPa) covers most industrial duty; intermediate and high-modulus grades push stiffness higher at real availability and cost premiums, and should be quoted with named fiber rather than adjectives. Fiber volume runs 55–65% in epoxy systems, with flame-retardant and high-Tg resins available where standards demand. The format’s defining constraint is anisotropy: the tubes are superb along their axis and weak across it, so bolted joints, clamps and local crushing must be engineered into the connection, not discovered in assembly. Manufacturers listed here run custom die cross-sections, supply cut-to-length and mitered parts, and machine end fittings or bonding steps where load introduction demands it.
