Product Overview
Rigid heavy-duty casters transmit every floor irregularity into the cart frame and its cargo. Shock-absorbing casters interpose a spring-loaded rig between frame and wheel: a coil or elastomer suspension with roughly 15–40 mm of travel absorbs impacts from dock plates, rail crossings and broken concrete, while the 90–95 Shore A polyurethane tread on a cast iron core carries load quietly without marking floors. Specification is a three-way balance — wheel diameter, spring rate and rated load — because a spring that is too soft bottoms out under static load and one that is too stiff transmits the shock it exists to absorb. The common 150–250 mm wheel sizes in this class cover carts in the approximate 500–2000 kg per-caster range. Manufacturers listed here match spring rate to sprung weight, verify actual travel under rated load, and offer matching rigid casters so a cart’s fixed corner doesn’t undo the suspension’s work.
