Product Overview
BK7 is the default crown glass of the optical industry — cheap, stable, well-characterized (nd 1.5168, Abbe 64.2) and striae-free in good melts — and the plano-convex form is its workhorse shape for focusing and collimating in imaging, sensor and laser-diode systems. Chinese optical shops listed here grind and polish BK7 (domestic H-K9L equivalent) lenses from 2 mm micro-optics to 300 mm instrument elements, with quality tiers matched to application: commercial 60-40 scratch-dig and λ/4 figure covers sensors and illumination, while 20-10/10-5 scratch-dig and λ/10 figure serve laser and interferometric duty at corresponding price points. Uncoated BK7 reflects about 4.25% per surface; MgF2 single-layer AR reduces this to roughly 1.5% per surface at the design wavelength, with broadband multilayer AR specified per band when stray reflection matters. Centration, edge bevels and chamfers follow the drawing, and coating runs are batch-tested for reflectance spectrum.
