Product Overview
UV fluorescent pigments are the workhorse of covert document security: printed features that are invisible (or nearly so) under normal light and reveal a vivid color under a long-wave 365 nm UV lamp. The pigment family is organic fluorescent colorants available in emission colors from yellow through red, in both colorless-daylight covert bases and visible bright bases for dual-purpose designs. They mill into UV-curable, solvent and water-based security inks at loadings of a few percent, and typical uses span anti-counterfeit printing, brand-authentication marks, tamper-evident coding and industrial UV tracing. Two limitations matter for specification: organic fluorescent dyes have only moderate lightfastness, so outdoor or sunlit documents need protected placements; and emission intensity fades with excessive film thickness or pigment loading through self-quenching, so ink recipes follow the supplier’s tested windows. Manufacturers listed here supply pigment series with excitation/emission spectra, compatibility guidance per ink vehicle and lot-to-lot fluorescence consistency data.
