Product Overview
N52 is the highest widely-available grade of sintered NdFeB, delivering about 52 MGOe (~414 kJ/m³) maximum energy product — the default choice for brushless DC motors, servo motors, drones and EV auxiliary drives where rotor volume and weight are constrained. Manufacturers listed here produce arc segments (tiles) with diametrically oriented magnetization from strip-cast and HDDR-refined powder, pressing in a magnetic field before sintering. Arcs are wire-cut or ground to drawing with typical ±0.05 mm tolerances on working surfaces, then coated with Ni-Cu-Ni, zinc or epoxy for corrosion protection. Because N-grade material is rated to roughly 80°C continuous service, applications above that threshold should specify SH/UH variants — engineers reviewing drawings typically confirm grade selection against the actual rotor operating point and demagnetization margin.
